(CLUB, VIDEO, AND MOBILE DJ) Since 1998
- As a child Michael aka DJ Kurious was exposed to a life of music in Hip Hop, RNB , Techno and lots of Karaoke music nights. His family played a major role to who he is today creating a Hip Hop crew called Kurious which today, still lives through him with his art and style.
- During his teen years 1997-1998 DJ Kurious was mentored, trained, and shadowed by well known mobile/radio DJs such as “The Nutty Dj” and “Eddie L”. Learning the art and business side of DJing. - 2000s DJ Kurious skills and mobile DJ experience grew working mostly every weekend for Hidefsoundproductions and Ob1productions, companies that are still active today. - Around 2007 DJ Kurious got the opportunity to DJ in the nightclub scene and held several residencies in Honolulu and China town nightclubs and bars for several years. Having the experience from the night club scene, DJ Kurious grew his knowledge with different crowds and styles of music. This was important in creating his identity as an open format DJ and building a wealth of knowledge in many genres of music. - In 2008 - 2010 DJ Kurious began establishing himself as an independent mobile DJ company and got the opportunity to DJ his first wedding - 2018 DJ Kurious took a leap quitting his day job and became a full time parent and a full time DJ - 2020 survived the pandemic as a mobile DJ and with 6 months of blood and sweat, built his own mobile multi purpose DJ booth which has elevated DJ setup to another level - 2050 plans to hopefully retire lol |
